Commission Regulation (EC) No 800/2008 (General Block Exemption Regulation) declares certain categories of State aid compatible with the common market under Articles 87 and 88 of the EC Treaty, exempting them from the prior notification requirement of Article 88(3), provided all conditions of the Regulation are satisfied. The Regulation covers regional aid, SME investment and employment aid, aid for female entrepreneurship, environmental protection aid, SME consultancy and fair participation aid, risk capital aid, research and development and innovation aid, training aid, and aid for disadvantaged and disabled workers, subject to specified aid intensities, individual notification thresholds, transparency requirements, and incentive effect conditions. Member States must comply with transparency, monitoring, and annual reporting obligations, and the Regulation applies until 31 December 2013, with a six-month adjustment period for non-regional aid schemes upon expiry.AI
