European Commission 24 February 2012, Commission Decision of 24/02/2012 declaring a concentration to be compatible with the common market (Case No COMP/M.6461 - TPV / PHILIPS TV BUSINESS) according to Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 (Only the English text is authentic)
Also known as
The European Commission has declared the acquisition of sole control of the Philips TV Business by TPV Technology Limited compatible with the internal market pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004. The Commission determined that the transaction raises no serious doubts regarding horizontal effects in the branded LCD TV market or vertical effects concerning input and customer foreclosure in the OEM supply chain. The decision concludes that the merged entity will continue to face significant competitive pressure from established global suppliers and that customers retain sufficient alternative sourcing options.AI
