Also known as
Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/2473 declares certain categories of State aid to undertakings active in the production, processing, and marketing of fishery and aquaculture products compatible with the internal market under Articles 107 and 108 TFEU, exempting them from the notification requirement of Article 108(3) TFEU. The Regulation applies primarily to SMEs across a broad range of aid categories—including innovation, health and safety, environmental protection, natural disaster compensation, and aquaculture development—while extending size-independent exemptions for aid addressing natural disasters, adverse climatic events assimilable to natural disasters, damage caused by protected animals, and innovation; it establishes common conditions including incentive effect, transparency, aid intensity caps, cumulation rules, and publication obligations. The Regulation applies from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2029, aligning with the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) programming period, with a six-month adjustment period for exempted schemes upon expiry.AI
