European Commission 17 June 2026, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1337 of 17 June 2026 granting a Union authorisation for the biocidal product family Ecolab Glut Family in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council

Also known as

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1337 grants a Union authorisation (number EU-0035830-0000) to Ecolab Deutschland GmbH for the biocidal product family 'Ecolab Glut Family', containing glutaraldehyde as the sole active substance (CAS 111-30-8), for product-types PT06 (preservatives for products during storage), PT11 (preservatives for liquid-cooling and processing systems), and PT12 (slimicides), pursuant to Article 44(5) of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012. The authorisation, valid from 8 July 2026 until 30 June 2031, is limited to a five-year period in accordance with Article 23(6) of that Regulation because glutaraldehyde is a candidate for substitution under Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1759, although the mandatory comparative assessment did not establish grounds for prohibition or restriction of the authorised uses. The Annex sets out the Summary of Product Characteristics governing two meta SPCs—one for formulations at 24% w/w and one at 50% w/w glutaraldehyde—specifying authorised uses, application rates, mandatory personal protective equipment, and environmental risk mitigation measures applicable exclusively to industrial (and, for certain uses, professional) users.AI
