Proposed Directive, based on Article 114 TFEU, amending Directives 2005/29/EC and 2011/83/EU to empower consumers in the green transition through improved pre-contractual information on durability, reparability, commercial guarantees of durability and software updates. It expands the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive’s rules on misleading practices and its blacklist to address greenwashing, non-credible sustainability labels, misleading product-comparison tools and specified early-obsolescence practices. Member States would transpose the measures within 18 months of adoption and apply them from 24 months after adoption.AI
