Commission Communication COM(2023) 306 establishes a revised EU monitoring framework for the circular economy, comprising 11 indicators across production and consumption, waste management, secondary raw materials, competitiveness and innovation, and global sustainability and resilience. The framework introduces indicators including material footprint, resource productivity, consumption footprint, production-related greenhouse-gas emissions, and material import dependency, and is intended to monitor policy effectiveness and guide future circular-economy action. Eurostat is to publish, maintain and continuously update the framework and its indicators.AI
