Background to the evaluation The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 1 (hereinafter the AMIF) for the programming period 2014-2020, was adopted on 16 April 2014. The AMIF was established as the successor of the European Refugee Fund 2 , the European Fund for the Integration of third-country nationals 3 and the European Return Fund 4 .
