The parties to the main proceedings are a French bank, Crédit lyonnais, Forbach branch, and Mr Rudolf Anterist, residing in Saarbrücken (Federal Republic of Germany), who had jointly and severally guaranteed to the bank the debts of Anterist & Schneider, a company whose registered
