By application lodged on 29 July 1998 Metsä-Serla Oyj, formerly Metsä-Serla Oy, and three other Finnish companies manufacturing cartonboard appealed against the judgment of the Court of First Instance of 14 May 1998 in Metsä-Serla and Others v Commission (hereinafter the contested judgment), seeking to have that judgment set aside.
