In this case, the Commission is once again bringing proceedings against a Member State alleging the inadequate classification of special protection areas for birds (‘SPAs’) in accordance with Council Directive 79/409/EEC of 2 April 1979 on the conservation of wild birds (2) (‘the Birds Directive’).
