WRITTEN QUESTION No 1086/85 by Mr Willy Kuijpers (ARC—B) to the Commission of the European Communities (8 September 1985) (86/C 78/13) Subject: Starvation in Sudan According to the UN, Sudan is on the verge of a catastrophe. More than half the population are threatened by hunger as a consequence of the drought in Africa. One million children are said to be threatened with starvation.
