Answer given by Mr Van Miert on behalf of the Commission (27 July 1998) There were more non-notified state aid cases in 1997 than in 1996. 91 out of 641 cases (14 %) registered by the Commission in 1996 were non-notified, compared with 140 out of 655 cases (21 %) in 1997.
