As at the end of May 2002 five A1 officials occupy ‘Hors Classe adviser’ posts. Three of these functions were recently created in the context of the Commission decision on the mobility of senior staff (announced on 24 April 2002). Upon appointment, ‘Hors Classe advisers’ receive a written mandate/work programme.
