Question for written answer E-000762/12 to the Commission Niki Tzavela (EFD) (1 February 2012) Subject: Scientific research in the EU Chilean researchers have released encouraging results regarding a new vaccination now being tested which could reduce the number of deaths from childhood meningitis. The current vaccine only protects against certain types of bacteria that cause this fatal disease.
