Question for written answer E-008169/12 to the Commission Nikolaos Chountis (GUE/NGL) (18 September 2012) Subject: Rise in unemployment in Greece According to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), the unemployment rate in Greece increased by 44.2 % between the second quarter of 2011 and the second quarter of 2012. Over the same period, employment declined by 8.7 %.
