Question for written answer E-001024/14 to the Commission Iñaki Irazabalbeitia Fernández (Verts/ALE) (31 January 2014) Subject: Water consumption in agriculture In some countries in southern Europe water consumption for the purposes of agriculture can amount to 80% of all the water consumed. This percentage of consumption seems too high, and policies ought to be considered to reduce such use.
