Judgment Lord Justice Tomlinson: This appeal raises two recondite but important issues concerning the potential liability of sea carriers to contribute to the liability incurred by third parties for the death of or personal injury to a passenger, or the loss of or damage to his luggage, occurring in the course of carriage performed by the sea carrier.
