On March 28, 1884, Missouri C. Shingler and Melcher IT. Shingler made and delivered their joint and several sealed note to the plaintiff, William 0. Livingston, whereby they promised to pay him on January 1, 1885, three hundred dollars ($300), with interest from date. Missouri C.
