If the testimony of the mother be believed, the deceased at all times manifested extreme solicitude for the welfare of his child, and yet from the time of the latter’s birth, up to the time of the death of the deceased, not a penny did he contribute for his education or support. The mother for nine years after the birth of the child lived in dire poverty.
