TALIAFERRO, Judge.

Plaintiff Mrs. W. H. Linxwiler, while walk-dng across the alley that severs the sidewalk on the east side of Louisiana avenue in the city of Shreveport, slipped on a metal valve box or manhole cover, lost her balance, and fell to the pavement. She received some severe and painful injuries as a result of the fall.
