During the morning of May 8,1944, claimant, bound for the Office of the Clerk of Albany County where she intended to appear as a witness in a naturalization proceeding, walked up Maiden Lane and came to the corner of Eagle Street and then mistook the next building on the street, the ' Court of Appeals courthouse, for the Albany County courthouse and climbed the south stairs thereof.
