The petitioner was sentenced to life imprisonment in the state penitentiary on January 7, 1943, by the superior court for Yakima county, after a jury trial. He, thereafter, applied to this court for the right to file a petition for a writ of habeas corpus, in forma pauperis, which was granted August 23, 1948.
