This libel in admiralty is based on a collision between the M/V Cherokee, a converted United States Navy YMS, and a barge in tow of the M/V Suwannee, after daylight on the morning of June 29, 1953, in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, just east of Catfish Point, in Lake Borgne, Louisiana.
