Defendant below, Hillcrest State Bank of University Park, paid forty checks with forged signatures aggregating $9,472.81 for which its depositor, plaintiff Evis-South-west, Inc., sued. Plaintiff further sought interest upon each check from the date of payment on the various dates applicable, between July 22, 1959, and June 24, 1960.
