Joseph Merlin Bertrand instituted this suit against his wife, seeking a divorce on the grounds of adultery and the custody of a minor child of the marriage. The defendant answered, denying the material allegations contained in plaintiff’s petition, and she reconvened for divorce against her husband, alleging adultery on his part.
