By indictment,1 defendant Purcell is charged with knowingly and intentional*1075ly defrauding and defeating the purpose of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, in violation of 18 U. S.C. § 1012, which carries with it a maximum penalty of one year imprisonment or $1,000.00 fine.
