Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant, Michael B. Wilson, was convicted of attempt robbery and aggravated battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, pars. 8—4, 12—4) and sentenced to a term of 3 to 9 years for the offense of attempt robbery.
