Defendants were charged by bills of information with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a violation of La. R.S. 40:966. A pre-trial motion to suppress the 12,600 pounds of marijuana, urging that the seizure was warrantless, without consent and without the requisite exigent circumstances, was denied after a lengthy hearing.
