On April 21, 1978, plaintiff Nasrollah Maghsoudi, a citizen of Hawaii, purchased an airplane ticket [hereinafter “ticket and baggage check”] from defendant Pan American World Airways, Inc., a New York corporation with its principal place of business in a state other than Hawaii, for around-the-world passage.
