At the conclusion of a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant, Freddie Martin, was convicted of burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 19 — 1), armed robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 18 — 2), and the murders of Catherine and Herbert Alferink.
