The case against the defendant, Alan Dias, began to build when his brother, Christian, ran a red light in Marshfield and was stopped by a police officer. That incident triggered an investigation which led to the conviction of Alan Dias on indictments for receiving a stolen motor vehicle and altering a vehicle identification number.
