RIORDAN, Justice.

Betty J. Seelig (Seelig), the State of New Mexico and the State of California (Petitioners), petitioned the district court to enforce a child support obligation contained in a California divorce decree between Seelig and Ramon Rios Ramirez (Ramirez), under the Revised Uniform Reciprocal Enforcement of Support Act (URESA). §§ 40-6-1 through 40-6-41, N.M.S.A. 1978.
