OPINION

EVANS, Chief Justice.

The appellant was indicted and tried for the misdemeanor offense of “official oppression” under TEX.PENAL CODE ANN. sec. 39.02 (Vernon 1974). The indictment alleged, in effect, that the appellant, while acting as a Houston police officer, unlawfully detained the female complainant “in order to pressure and persuade her to engage in sexual intercourse with him.
