Plaintiff filed her complaint on November 8, 1982, alleging that defendant Shear-son/ American Express, Inc. (“Shearson”) and various stockbrokers then in Shearson’s employ “churned” her account in order to generate commissions, in violation of, inter alia, federal and state security laws.
