During the latter part of 1974, the United Mine Workers of America (“UMWA” or “the Union”) and the Bituminous Coal Operators Association (“BCOA”), a multi-em-ployer bargaining association of coal producers, renegotiated the National Bituminous Coal Wage Agreement (“NBCWA”).
