Ricky Tucker was convicted, after a jury trial, of two offenses: (1) fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in violation of Minn.Stat. § 609.487 (1982); and (2) assault in the second degree in violation of Minn. Stat. § 609.222 (1982). He was also convicted by the court, under stipulated facts, of felon carrying a handgun in violation of Minn.Stat. § 624.
