The plaintiff, Robert S. Calkins, is an attorney in Peoria practicing as a sole practitioner. He utilizes the services of one part-time secretary, namely, Ms. Friess. Due to personal matters requiring her attention, Ms. Friess took a leave of absence during the period of February 1983 through May 1983.
