OPINION

LAGARDE, Justice.

Following denial of his motion to suppress evidence, Oscar Emilio Arcila, an illegal Colombian national, pled nolo conten-dere before the court to possession of cocaine. Pursuant to a negotiated plea bargain agreement, the court sentenced Arcila to a $1,000 fine and thirty-five years’ confinement.
