On November 5, 1991, the circuit court of Livingston County entered judgment on a jury verdict finding defendant Alexander Osborne guilty of unlawful possession of a weapon by a person in the custody of the Department of Corrections (DOC) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 24—1.1(b)).
