Before the Court is Plaintiff James Laird’s motion for summary judgment. For the reasons set forth below, it is granted.1

FACTUAL BACKGROUND

Plaintiff James Laird was hired as a tool maker by General Motors Corporation (GM) at its Coit Road Plant on January 5, 1960, and upon beginning work, became a member of the United Auto Workers, Local 45.
