Defendant, Brent White, was charged by indictment with armed robbery, home invasion, and residential burglary. Following a jury trial, defendant was found guilty of armed robbery and home invasion in violation of sections 12 — 11(a)(1) and 18 — 2(a) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1991, ch. 38, pars. 11(a)(1), 18 — 2(a)).
