BACKGROUND AND PRIOR PROCEEDINGS

This is an appeal from the denial of a motion for a new trial. Robert Richard Jones (Jones) was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. The facts relevant to the underlying conviction and sentence are discussed at length in this Court’s opinion affirming Jones’ conviction and sentence on direct appeal.
