Defendant-appellant Thomas Allen Kretzer was found guilty by a jury of assault in the first degree, a class B felony, under § 565.050, RSMo 1986. He was sentenced by the trial judge, as a prior offender, to thirteen years imprisonment. He thereafter filed a post-conviction motion under Missouri Rule 29.15, alleging ineffective assistance of counsel.
