Court of Criminal Appeals of Alabama October 17, 1997, CR-96-0979 (Henderson v. State)

The appellant was convicted of second degree arson,see § 13A-7-42, Code of Alabama 1975. Pursuant to the Habitual Felony Offender Act, § 13A-5-9, Code of Alabama 1975, the appellant was sentenced to life imprisonment. In April 1996, the Pleasant Hill Holiness Church burned. The appellant admitted that he had set the fire and he raised pyromania as a defense.
