I. Introduction

On October 18, 1995, Salvador Pou, Jr. (hereinafter “petitioner”), a prisoner of the State of New York, filed a petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254, challenging his state court conviction which was entered on June 11, 1990.
