On August 7, 1997, defendant, Gary L. Lenz, was charged with driving while his license was revoked (625 ILCS 5/6 — 303(a) (West 1996)). Defendant filed a motion to dismiss the charge, alleging that he had a valid Iowa driver’s license that was issued in February 1995. Following a hearing, the court granted the motion.
