Defendants were charged with the manufacture and possession

of

a controlled substance. ORS 475.992(l)(a) and (4)(a). Before trial, they successfully moved to suppress evidence obtained in a warrantless search of their van, together with statements that they made to the arresting officers. The state appeals, and we reverse and remand.
