DECISION AND JUDGMENT ENTRY STATEMENT OF THE CASE On July 3, 1997, a Highland County Grand Jury returned a seventeen count indictment against appellant, Gary E. Mayer, Sr. The indictment charged appellant with six counts of rape in violation of R.C. 2907.02, one count of attempted rape in violation of R.C. 2923.02, and ten counts of gross sexual imposition in violation of R.C. 2907.05.
