This is an action to enforce a 1991 default judgment obtained by the plaintiff-assignee for the balance of interest owed on a promissory note executed by defendant Douglas J. Rowe (“Rowe”). Rowe contested both the substantive merits and the jurisdictional validity of the judgment, and counterclaimed for the plaintiffs alleged unfair debt collection practices.
