The defendant, Raynall Lee Bell,1 was convicted by a jury of one count of battery of a correctional employee, in violation of La.R.S. 14:34.5, and sentenced to three and a half years at hard labor, without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence, to run consecutively with any other sentence he was presently serving.
